Tourist Information about Akti Apollona

The 70 km of coastline between Piraeus and Lavrio forms the western coast of the Saronic Gulf, the Akti Apollona or Apollo Coast. The entire area is full of life, tourist development, and is fairly modern. The visitor wandering through it can enjoy its pretty beaches and bays as well as its verdant modern neighbourhoods.

The Akti Apollona is near Athens and the visitor can cross it by city bus or stay at one of the nearby hotels. The area has much to attract the visitor, irrespective of age and preferences.

The sports lover who wishes to stay near Athens will find golf courses, organized beaches, sports facilities, sailing clubs and schools, water skiing, as well as marinas and yacht refuelling stations.

The younger generations can enjoy the seaside, dine at picturesque restaurants, and when night falls dance at the discos, mingle in the pubs, or sample the local colour at Greek night clubs.

Those interested in antiquities or in culture and natural life can stay at the area's camping sites, visit local museums and archaeological sites, go to concerts and theatres and open air cinemas.

And for health tourists there are the mineral waters of Vouliagmeni lake.

We recommend Akti Apollona to all those whose time is restricted or who are here on business, because it has well equipped hotels, modern shopping centres and is a hub for one day cruises and short trips to the famous Greek islands.
