Surrounded by extensive grazing and crop-growing land - which affords it a comfortable rural feel - Albury is located on the Murray River and, by default, right on the New South Wales border. Fishing, watersports and picnics, enjoyed on and around the great Murray itself, also extend into the Lake Hume area, while vineyards - within 30 minutes drive of the town centre - are a wonderful diversion, this area boasting some of the most reputable wines in the country.
