The northmost point of Guadeloupe, 37km from Pointe-à-Pitre. Here the last Karib Indians could find shelter until the 19th century. Nowadays, the city is very quiet, facing the deep blue and turquoise waves of the ocean, in front of a landscape with poor vegetation under steadily blowing winds and hot sun. Some very beautiful beaches spread out North: Anse Laborde (be aware of the current!), Anse de la Chapelle, Anse Pistolet, Lagoon of the Porte d'Enfer...
