Every year, from October to December, Antraigues is known for its chestnut markets on Wednesday mornings. Chestnut growers negotiate their production taken from chestnut trees growing in steep terraces on the mountains of Ardèche. Formerly transformed into flour or eaten in several everyday dishes, the fruit of the bread tree still remains very strongly anchored in local culture. The top-ranking production area in France, Ardèche shows an obvious will to reconquer markets.
