The first lord of the place was Percy, cook of William the Conqueror, who illustrated himself with the battle of Hastings and gave stock to the English branch of Percy, dukes of Northumberland. Audrieu returned in 1593 to Guillaume de S้ran who married Marguerite de Percy whose seigniory was set up in baronnie in 1615. Put on sale at the Revolution, the castle turned over to the Flax comb to the Restoration and is still between the hands of their descendants. It was very damaged during the unloading of 1944.
