Although Barnet is often quoted as being in Hertfordshire, it actually lies just over the county border in London. Barnet's position on the very northern edge of London sees the town enjoy the benefits of the city to the south, with the benefits of the Hertfordshire countryside to its north. Barnet residents will tell you that they have the best of both worlds! Barnet has a good selection of restaurants and pubs with more to be found in the London suburbs to its south. There are also nightclubs, cinemas and theatres in and around the town.
