Baumgarten lies in the eastern part of the district of Mattersburg directly at the border to Hungary. It is located 17km from Eisenstadt and some 60km from Vienna. Baumgarten lies at an altitude of 255m in a landscape that is dominated by hills. The Krippelberg hill with an altitude of 351m is the highest elevation of the area. The climate is affected by Pannonian influences. The region is a low-precipitation area and very high temperatures can be expected in summer. Fishing, cycling and hiking can be pursued.
