Bouillante, 75 km from Pointe-à-Pitre. Founded in 1645, it is one of Guadeloupe's most ancient villages. Its name comes from the hot springs that can be found all over there. This parrish includes the villages of Malendure and Pigeon, their beaches of dark sand facing the Isles of Goyaves (or Pigeon). This submarine area with great varieties of corals and tropical fish is a nature reserve (called Cousteau Reserve) and the best place to discover Guadeloupe's submarine life.
