Buenaventura is located in the Cauca Valley about two hours from Cali. It is the most important port on the Pacific coast due to the amount of maritime business that takes place there. Two of the most interesting towns in the area are Juanchaco and Ladrilleros . They are two fishing villages separated by a short path and known for their beautiful dark sand beaches and delicious seafood. To reach them you need to take a two hour boat trip during which you can enjoy the turtles, flying fish and if you are lucky the delightful dolphins. An hour from the port you find La Bocana, a popular tourist place and the coves of El Tigre and Bahía de Málaga, known for their beautiful landscapes with waterfalls, beaches and islets. There you will find wooden houses nestled in the tropical growth of the rain forest.
