The centre of the Chodsko region, which is ethnographically very interesting, received its municipality privilege from Premysl Otakar II in 1262. Since the Middle Ages the Chodský Town Castle has been preserved here and now has on display significant ethnic collections. A cylindrical leaning tower of the Gothic parish church marks the dominant feature of Domažlice. The square has an unusually elongated shape with a series of ancient citizen houses with Baroque and classical facades. Chodsko festivities are performed on this square every year. You can enjoy the local folklore here, as its lively tradition has survived till the present day.
