Humble is the main centre for shopping in South Langeland. Here you will find many shops and the town whose name is also the name of a popular Danish cheese has a cheese and wine shop just opposite the Humble Kro. On the outskirts of town you find the beautiful Church of Humble, situated on a small hill overlooking the past in the shape of a well preserved long barrow that has the proud name of "Kong Humbles Grav" . This large barrow is encircled by its 77 stones and has with its single chambered tomb created the legend that a very important person was buried there. The myth of King Humble is mentioned by the Danish historian of the Middle-ages, Saxo, but it is not known for certain for whom the grave was build. At the moment it is difficult to get through to the barrow.
The church in Humble is one of the biggest village churches in Denmark. The late Romanesque building has granite foundations and brick walls. Both the original doors are still intact. The present windows are from the 19th century and inside the church frescos were revealed underneath a layer of cement when the church was restored. The church bells are renowned for there beautiful sound and one of them is the oldest on Langeland. It was made 1430 and has stamped on it the code of arms of Erik af Pommern. The other bell is the biggest on Langeland and was made in 1633.
