Along route 22 in the high valley of Río Negro, or on the road of the wilderness passing Catriel and 25 de Mayo, you arrive at Confluencia, the site where rivers Limay and Neuquén converge and give origin to the river Negro. There are two cities: Cipolletti in the province of Río Negro, and 5 km. from it after crossing the river Limay, Neuquén, the capital of the homonimous province. The plateaus on the flanks of both rivers create an adequate environment for this unique city, which had a strong development in the sixties and seventies due to hydroelectrical and oil investments. The neighbouring orchards and the vigour of a city without inactive timetables will give you a strong impression of the power of Patagonia from its very beginning.
