Saül, right in the heart of French Guiana, is the best place to start all hiking trips. . The town can be reached by plane from Cayenne, or, for the more adventurous, by dugout canoe and on foot. The footpaths that have been marked out by the ONF allow visitors to safely explore the vestiges of French Guiana's original inhabitants, and to learn all about the huge variety of plant, bird and animal life.
