37 km from Pointe-à-Pitre, it is one of the three big sea resorts of Guadeloupe, that nevertheless has kept its original charm of a little fisher's village. The typical creole houses gather around the covered market near the church and the fisher port with its little restaurants along the seaside while the hotels, the shops, the casino and the only golf of Guadeloupe (18 holes, design R. Trent Jones) are to be found around the marina.
